Look Hear is the seventh studio album by 10cc, released in 1980. The album was recorded after a long break the band had to take due to Eric Stewart's car accident in January 1979 that left him with blindness in one eye and temporary hearing loss in one ear. Like previous albums, it was recorded at the band's Strawberry Studios South in Dorking, Surrey. At the time of the recording Graham Gouldman was coming through a divorce and it was reflected in the songs that he wrote for the album, How'm I Ever. Ten CC 10 CC - Look Hear 1980. 10cc's last album, Bloody Tourists, having spun off the monster hit Dreadlock Holiday, it would be a very brave person indeed who could argue that the most consistently inventive band of the previous eight years had finally run out of steam. But there were clues no follow-up hits on the last album, a certain lack of pizzazz on their most recent tours, and an incapacitating car accident that kept Eric Stewart immobile for almost nine months. Put all that together and, when Look Hear did finally materialize, the surprise might have been that it was as good as it was. Look hear was the third album released after the major split in the band which saw Godley and Crme surrendering the name to Stewart and Gouldman. Interestingly, while Stewart and Gouldman write most of the songs here, two songs on the first side are penned by guitarist Rick Fenn. Welcome to the world is the first of these, Fenn collaborating with keyboard player Duncan Mackay. It is a reasonable facsimile of a 10CC song, even mentioning a dreadlock holiday in the lyrics.
