Midnight Marauders is the third studio album by American hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest, released on November 9, 1993, by Jive Records. Recording sessions for the album occurred at Battery Studios, Platinum Island Studios and Scorcerer Sound in New York City. Its production was mainly handled by Q-Tip, with contributions from Skeff Anselm, Large Professor and the group's DJ, Ali Shaheed Muhammad. A culmination of the group's two previous albums, it features an eclectic, gritty sound based on jazz. Though the abstract rappers finally betrayed a few commercial ambitions for Midnight Marauders, the happy result was a smart, hooky record that may not have furthered the jazz-rap fusions of The Low End Theory, but did merge Tribe-style intelligence and reflection with some of the most inviting grooves heard on any early-'90s rap record. Their third album, 1993's Midnight Marauders, may not be as influential, but it could be their most beloved. Later Kuniva appeared on the album D12 World with D12 in 2004. During Eminem's hiatus, D12 recorded the Return of the Dozen mixtape released in 2008 while Eminem was working on Relapse. Kuniva went solo in 2010. On February 16, 2010, Kuniva released his mixtape called D12's Own Kuniva Presents: Mixtape. Since then he keeps releasing solo-mixtapes and albums. More Less. Midnight Marauders.
