Anyone going into Adore thinking they're going to get anything even remotely touching black metal will be sorely dissapointed, even though the band has a history in the genre can be debated but for now I'll go with it, they've dropped all of their black metal influences, creating a very pleasant and simple sound. The distortion the guitars use is soothing and relaxing, it's not overdone at all, it's far closer to dreamy shoegaze bands such as Slowdive than anything metal related.
