People familiar with USBM will undoubtedly recognize the name John Gossard, mainly for his contributions to Weakling he is also one of the guitarists in Asunder, but you would never know it's the same guy. Weakling had amazing if fairly monotonous riffs that were at the same time, pretty propulsive, giving the music a strong sense of forward motion. This monolithic two track album is my first experience of Asunder, but they're certainly a group that I'll be following faithfully in the future. Works Will Come Undone. Your Rating. Overview . Works Will Come Undone is an album best listened to from start to finish, in it's entirety by candlelight or bonfire. Ok the last parts are optional but burning shit while listening to Asunder can only enhance the experience. Ok, lets get serious. Though this release is only two tracks long, the journey it takes you on is really quite amazing. The songs are full of lush guitar arrangements, mournful growls, chants, dissonant ambiance, slow, steady, sometimes tribal drumming and the aforementioned hard rocking cellos. This album might not make you bang your head, but it will.
