It was released on 11 September 2009 through the band's own Helium-3 imprint as well as Warner Bros. Produced by the band and mixed by Mark Stent, the album was recorded from September 2008 to May 2009 at Studio Bellini in Lake Como, Italy. Musically, the record is similar to some of the band's previous material, mixing orchestral elements with rock and electronic music. The album also saw the band craft a three-part, 15. On this album, Resistance, Big Mountain showcases the handsome tenor of lead singer Quino and the springy guitar figures of Jamaican ringer Tony Chin. Unfortunately, the lyrics reduce populist politics to cheerful, Sesame Street-like slogans Know Your Culture, Love Is the Only Way, while the arrangements dilute Bob Marley's original roots reggae to the easy-listening pop reggae of the Third World, especially on the remake of the Youngbloods' Get Together.
