Similar Artists. By this point Black flag started to flirt with an almost metal sound, with an album drenched in reverb and overproduction. Not to say that this is a bad thing, but many would argue that while Black Flag made an amazing punk & hardcore band, they didn't make such a great metal band. The tracks on Loose Nut are tight, mid tempo, and sometimes catchy, but a complete departure from the Black Flag's previous sound, one which they never returned to, not that they were ever a band of consistency in the first place
