Raw and Rare is a double DVD package released by the Canadian hard rock band Harem Scarem in 2008. It was recorded live at the Firefest IV festival held at Rock City in Nottingham and consists of the final Harem Scarem live performance before their disbandment. Black Gremlin is an Italian rock band, officially formed in 2013. It all started when 4 friends already playing in other bands such as Shinin' Shade and Calendula - felt the need go back to basics and play some raw rock n roll. They started jamming together and soon ideas became some of their first concrete tracks. With the help their friend and producer Carlo Izzo the band starts recording their debut Ep called Rock N Raw. 7 tracks came to life at the Elfo Studio in Piacenza Italy at the end of 2013. This debut album from upstart Italians Black Gremlin certainly lives up to its name, in that its raw not surprising, since the quartet recorded its seven songs live in one day, and using a traditional 8-track reel-to-reel tape deck. The result is a heady little collection of songs that combines punk, especially in its attitude, with classic metal, psychedelic doom and fuzzed out noise. Its admirable in its intent, and effective in its delivery, with suitably intense performances and an appropriately crude production. Still, Black Noise was one of late-era progs most original albums a hypnotic blend of symphonic synthesizer effects and glossy New Wave melodies, plus an exotic whirl of electric mandolin and violin from Nash the Slash, .
