Till I Get My Way Rubber Factory was recorded by The Black Keys, themselves, in an old tire factory they rented space from in their hometown of Akron, OH on a reel-to-reel recorder w tape that was recycled from old fried chicken commercials that never made it to radio. After self-producing and recording their first four records in makeshift studios, the duo completed Attack & Release 2008 in a professional studio and hired producer Danger Mouse, who subsequently became a frequent collaborator with the band. Blakroc, a collaborative album featuring the Black Keys and several hip hop artists, was released in 2009 on Black Friday. The project was supported and brought together by Damon Dash, who is a big fan of the band. The Black Keys - Rubber Factory 2004. To favorites 10 Download album. Listen album. Rubber Factory Tracklist. When the Lights Go Out Lyrics. Album 2004 13 Songs. A rugged, lo-fi funk runs through The Black Keys' third album. Drummer Patrick Carney's grooves at times hit home like breakbeats sampled from dusty old LPs, making plain the duo's claim that their stripped-down sound is as much inspired by Wu-Tang Clan as by their garage rock bedfellows. Over this powerful foundation, Dan Auerbach's hypnotic guitar lines and sorrow-filled lyrics add weight and mystery. The low-slung swagger of When the Lights Go Out and the brooding, gloomy Grown So Ugly are particularly potent. Rubber Factory The Black Keys. Rubber Factory finds the duo expanding, stretching, and improving, coming into its own as a distinctive, original, thoroughly great rock & roll band. With 2003's Thickfreakness, guitaristvocalist Dan Auerbach and drummerproducer Patrick Carney delivered on the promise of a raw, exciting debut by sharpening their sound and strengthening the songwriting, thereby upping the ante for their next record, and Rubber Factory doesn't disappoint.
