Sabotage is the sixth studio album by English rock band Black Sabbath, released in July 1975. It was recorded in the midst of litigation with their former manager Patrick Meehan and the stress that resulted from the band's ongoing legal woes infiltrated the recording process, inspiring the album's title. It was co-produced by guitarist Tony Iommi and Mike Butcher. Sabotage - Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath began work on their sixth album in February 1975, again in England at Morgan Studios in Willesden, London. They had a decisive vision to differ the sound from their previous album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Guitarist Tony Iommi, who produced the album, said that We could've continued and gone on and on, getting more technical, using orchestras and everything else which we didn't particularly want to. We took a look at ourselves, and we wanted to do a roc. Black Sabbath - Sabotage 1975. 2: Black Sabbath. Paranoid & Master of reality Era 3: Vol 4, SBS & Sabotage Era 4: Technical Ecstasy & NSD. Sabotage was in my opinion the end of an era in the life of the Sabs. Prior to this, Black Sabbath had written and released five ground breaking, brilliant albums in three years. 1974 was a year when Sabbath toured a lot, and released no album at all, until July 1975 when Sabotage finally were released. In my ears, they take a step back to a more doomy sound here, than the latest two albums, which I like In my opinion it was the best and most decent way to continue the Sabbath sound after the incredible brilliant album Sabbath bloody sabbath. Black Sabbath. Released July 28, 1975. Sabotage Tracklist. Hole in the Sky Lyrics. Around the time of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, we found out that we were being ripped off by our management and our record company. So, much of the time, when we werent onstage or in the studio, we were in lawyers offices trying to get out of all our contracts. We were literally in the studio, trying to record, and wed be signing all these affidavits and everything. Thats why its called Sabotage because we felt that the whole process was just being totally sabotaged by all these people ripping us off. Geezer Butler. It was recorded at Morgan Studios, London, England in the midst of litigation with their former manager Patrick Meehan and the stress that resulted from the band's ongoing legal woes infiltrated the recording process, inspiring the album's title. All songs were written by Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ozzy Osbourne and Bill Ward. Ozzy Osbourne: Vocals. Sabotage is the final release of Black Sabbath's legendary First Six, and it's also the least celebrated of the bunch, though most die-hard fans would consider it criminally underrated. The band continues further down the proto-prog metal road of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and this time around, the synthesizers feel more organically integrated into the arrangements. What's more, the song structures generally feel less conventional and more challenging. Black Sabbath discography main. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 1973. Technical Ecstasy 1976.
