Ritual ANTI-GOTH 395 In 2018, it has been approximately eighteen years since Blasphemy returned from a six-year hiatus to perform two series of live rituals first, in July and August of 2000 and again the following summer. What makes this release particularly unique is the first-time inclusion of the track Victory Son of the Damned, from which the rehearsal now derives its name. In fact, the track is included in two consecutive iterations, as it was played back-to-back during the session in preparation for the songs live debut at the following Anza Club gig. The Canadian outfit known as Blasphemy was formed in 1984 in Burnaby, BC. They are known for creating a small sub-genre known as war metal. Each member does not go by their real name, but use ritual-style titles instead. Blasphemy is considered a black metal band, and while the guitar riffssolos and blast beat drumming certainly fit the black metal mold, the vocals have a more death metal edge to them, similar to Von or Sarcófago.
