Loxene Golden Disc finalist Bruno Lawrence's Electric Revelation and Traveling Apparition, was a New Zealand musical and theatrical co-operative active in the 1970s. It was the idea of Bruno Lawrence to get together a group of musicians, actors and friends who would travel around New Zealand on a tour to get away from the pressure of the music and movie scene. He organised the traveling group and in October 1971 they departed on their tour. The group travelled around New Zealand in a very distinctive red bus. The group lived in a commune for many years. Three families, including Bruno read more. This feelgood classic was written in Wanaka on the first Blerta tour, for the group's kids' shows. The hope was that a childrens show would win over local audiences when Blerta's busload of merry pranksters rolled into a new town. The song's concept was inspired by a Margaret Mahy story, reshaped by Geoff Murphy. Corben Simpson composed the music, and actor Bill Stalker narrates. It became a top 20 single, but a video was never made. This clip - combining new scenes, and old footage of the Blerta bus and varied escapades - was created for 'best of' film Blerta Re. A BLERTA concert never fails to leave an indelible impression, usually hilarious, after chaotic, and frequently brilliant.
