Notes

As the new year of 1981 was already underway I agreed to record these songs before I get to old. I was born in 1907 in the Dorset village of Hampreston, of a Suffolk mother and a West Country father who could sing and play anything from a squeeze box to the church organ. He often palyed at the village fetes and fairs and was a step dancer of no mean ability [taken from sleevenotes]

Bob Roberts was a 1992 'mock-umentry' about the election of a Republican know-nothing the title character to a U. Senate seat in Pennsylvania in the movie Roberts wins against a too-brainy-to win Democrat played by Gore Vidal. The real 1994 U.
