Glastonbury 2000 is a live album by English musician David Bowie. It was recorded during his Sunday night headline slot at the Glastonbury Festival on 25 June 2000. The album marks the first time the full video and audio of the performance are released, 18 years after it took place. It was shown in its entirety for the first time on BBC2 on 28 June 2020. Whatever its historical import, Glastonbury 2000 is primarily a pleasant run-through of beloved songs for a gigantic, besotted crowd-a signal to people who were dying to love David again that, yes, he wanted to be adored. But compared to other official live Bowie releases, from the coke-addled craziness of the Diamond Dogs-era David Live to the far more muscular A Re. David Bowie. Glastonbury 2000. Your Rating. Overview . David Bowies legendary headlining set at Glastonbury 2000 will be released in full for the first time November 30th via Parlophone Records, BBC Studios and Glastonbury Festivals. The box set will feature an audio version of the full 21-song setlist and a film of the entire show. Previously, only 30 minutes of Bowies performance had ever been aired on broadcast television. Bowies Glastonbury set notably includes a rendition of Heroes' that was featured prominently in the acclaimed exhibit, David Bowie Is The Glastonbury box set will also include a reproduction of a diary Bowie kep. BBC producer Mark Cooper filmed the show in its entirely but was strictly limited by Bowie to a one-off live broadcast of just seven songs. Cooper calls it surely his greatest concert since he buried Ziggy Stardust at Hammersmith in July 1973. Now, following years of negotiation, the full Glastonbury set finally makes its debut as a live DVD and album.
