Bree Sharp was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and learned to play guitar by 15. By 17, she had moved to New York City to study theater at New York University. She eventually returned to music and while in college began writing the songs that led to her 1998 record deal with Trauma Records. In August 2002, she released her second album, More B. on her own label, Ahimsa Records. She also contributed the song This Side of Paradise to the dubbed English version of Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys and Team Up as the opening theme music for the dubbed English version of Tokyo Mew Mew, also known as Mew Mew Power.
