Feast of Wire is the fourth studio album by American indie rock band Calexico. The album was released on June 18, 2003 through Quarterstick Records. The album was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Joe Tangari of Pitchfork called Feast of Wire Calexico's first genuinely masterful full-length, crammed with immediate songcraft, shifting moods and open-ended exploration, and the album we always knew they had in them but feared they would never make. The band's two main members, Joey Burns and John Convertino, first played together in Los Angeles as part of the group Giant Sand. They have recorded a number of albums on Quarterstick Records, while their 2005 EP In the Reins recorded with Iron & Wine has reached the Billboard 200 album charts. All of Calexico's previous strengths come home to roost on Feast of Wire, the band pushing their experiments further than ever before and pulling each of them off unfalteringly. In short, Calexico have created their first genuinely masterful full-length, crammed with immediate songcraft, shifting moods and open-ended exploration. A brief acoustic guitar figure and pounding waltz beat open things at a crisp gait. Calexico have always threatened to make a spectacular record, and even came close on 1998's The Black Light, but having spent the last three years honing their skills has paid off for them in ways no one could have predicted. Calexico : The Black Light,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен. Where Water Flows. Black Light. Minas de Cobre for Better Metal. Over Your Shoulder. Garden Ruin. The Book and the Canal. Feast Of Wire. Hot Rail. Albums in Indie Rock. Time Is Running. Deeper and richer than their debut, Spoke, Calexico's second album expands upon the sun-baked, cinematic sound of before with the addition of Latin jazz rhythms, mariachi trumpets, and pedal steel in and of themselves, the group's songs are not exactly compelling, but they're produced with such a fine sense of texture and atmosphere that The Black Light still makes. Genre: Alt-Country. Their best album- it explores so many genres and sounds and exemplifies the talents of Joey Burns and John Convertino. Or consider a donation 69.
