Album

Silver & Gold Califones debut album 'Roomsound' - Originally self released in April of 2001. Roomsound' covers the same rustic, slightly ramshackle back forty that Tim Rutili has been ploughing through since his previous band Red Red Meat. Only this time the tilled bedrock unveils the most vividly colored, luring crop of songs Rutili has ever harvested. The sleepy, country-blues picking and autumnal backwoods melodies are accented with striking splashes of electronic tone color, obsolete keyboards and off-kilter percussion. Includes unlimited streaming via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more. Purchasable with gift card. Альбом 2001 Песен: 10. Indie Rock Indie Folk. After a pair of EPs and extensive touring, Chicago supergroup Califone finally sat down to make a full-length album. Drawing on the vaguely avant-garde inclinations of their past work, the band has made yet another shotgun marriage of modern, electronic techniques to old-time American folk music. Likely one of the few bands in the country to demonstrate equal influence from Brian Eno and Hank Williams Sr. Califone make fascinating music out of the struggle between old and new sounds. Califone has released an album and feature film, both of which are titled All My Friends Are Funeral Singers. The album was released October 6, 2009 on Dead Oceans. The feature film was made available in 2010, and the band toured as a live soundtrack to the film. Roomsound, 2001. Trout Silk, 05:03. Bottles and Bones Shades and Sympathy, 05:32. The few tunes that don't feature an acoustic guitar front-and-center highlight piano instead, and the focus is squarely on the songs. Given Rutili's lyrical foundation in disjointed mythology, this more grounded approach is a nice fit. Even more importantly, the craft behind the songs gives them enough muscle to stand on their own. Trout Silk sets the tone for the album from the first clipped strum
