canopy hoc is a solo project by So Oishi, an electronic music producer and DJ from Tokyo, Japan. He started DJing 10 years ago when he lived in New York City, inspired by the local scenes of underground techno and psychedelic trance. He moved to the Netherlands in 2012 and studied electroacoustic music at the Institute of Sonology, where he met Guybrush, one of SØVN’s founding members. “Playground” is his debut EP. While his music ranges over techno, electronica, ambient, and experimental, a perpetual state of flux is always his main subject.

Vincenzo Pedata was born in Naples in 1982, where he has lived until 1998.
He started to study sculpture class at the Art Academy in Bologna, leaving after three years. At that time his interest in composing music was growing up especially after coming into contact with electroacoustic improvised music.
In 2007 he attended a “Stage Technician Course for Live Show”. After a while he started to work in theaters as light/sound designer, mostly with his own theatrical groups, MestieriMisti and Commissione P. In 2013 he enrolled in the Electronic Music Course at Conservatorio Statale di Musica di Pesaro, where he’s currently studying. In 2014/15 he did an Erasmus exchange at the Institute of Sonology, Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
