Hall is a gospel and soul singer that was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was a member of the Raymond Raspberry Singers out of Ohio. Although Hall had songs produced by legends such as Quincy Jones My Babys So Good 1965, he failed to produce any noticeable tracks that are familiar to most. What About You, in my opinion, is one of his best, if not the best song that he has every graced his powerful vocals on. As far as I am aware, this track has not been sampled by anyone such is its rarity. Jerry Ragovoy composed and produced the orchestral arrangement on this track as. Carl Halls four-octave range first came into prominence on the gospel sides he cut in the 1950s for labels like Vee-Jay and Savoy.
