Another Passenger is singer-songwriter Carly Simon's seventh album, and sixth studio album, released in 1976. For this album, Simon enlisted a new producer, Ted Templeman, as well as his clients, The Doobie Brothers and Little Feat, to provide musical and vocal backing. Another Passenger peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Pop albums chart. The lead single It Keeps You Runnin' peaked at No. 46 on the Pop singles chart and No. 27 on the Adult Contemporary chart, while the second single Half A Chance. Another Passenger - Carly Simon. The sniffs of So what that that assertion may provoke are exactly what Simon is confronting with this album. Her tenure with producer Richard Perry left many with the feeling that she had given herself over to his very particular musical vision, and the music that resulted - ephemeral and repetitive for the most part - was more Perrys failure than Simons. Prominent among those used people are men: Perry, whose lush slickness impressed her as a good musical equivalent to her lyrical glides writer Jacob Brackman, whose arch irony suited her Joan Didion-ish despair and James. Carly Simon tried for a fresh start on her sixth new studio album, Another Passenger, changing to producer Ted Templeman and employing his clients the Doobie Brothers as backup musicians, along with Little Feat and other notable West Coast session players.
