Carol Williams, born in Montclair, New Jersey, United States, is a vocalist and songwriter who achieved success with her disco songs in the 1970s. She was the first female artist signed to the disco label Salsoul Records. Carol Williams was once a member of the post-discogarage house studio project called Komiko. She worked with producer Vincent Montana, Jr. and the Salsoul Orchestra. Her most notable recording, More, was very popular at a time when disco was just breaking into the mainstream and. Reflections of Carol Williams is an impressive progression from 'Lectric Lady, with a more varied palette of arrangements and Williams sounding more assured and lively. Originally released in 1978 on Roy B. Hot Productions reissued the album on CD in the mid-'90s. The mastering quality on the reissue varies, with a particularly grainy sound on the set's lovely closing ballad, He's My Man. Carol Williams only released two albums: Lectric Lady her now classic Salsoul album in 1976 with the alleged first ever 12 single More and sampled Love Is You and Reflections of Carol , yet she remains performing to this day and put out a string of boogie oriented singles in the 80s. Im happy to report that Reflections is a delight: full of strings, catchy, funky dance tunes that appeal to the romantic in me. Dance The Night Away is the opener, a joyous fast paced celebration of the disco lifestyle with a catchy refrain that sinks into your head on multiple listens. Love Constitution - Carol Williams.
