This was Clancy Eccles's second go at self-production, his first, although musically top-notch, was a bit of a debacle, as the resulting tapes were taken and released in the UK without his knowledge. Eccles recorded What Will Your Mama Say at Federal Studios in 1967, a lovely slice of romantic rock steady that's already looking forward to the arrival of reggae. But what about his girl's mother, what will her reaction be Apparently it's a troublesome subject which both have been avoiding, but no longer, as Eccles smoothly broaches the topic, and prods his love to finally break the news of their forthcoming nuptials.
