We had been writing songs, jamming in Scott Phillips living room and really didnt have any idea of what it was going to sound like recorded. By the time all was said and done, Creed's My Own Prison spent over 150 weeks on the catalog albums chart and 110 weeks on the Billboard 200. Originally released on the band's own label, Creed's debut album, My Own Prison, was re-released on Wind-Up Records in a remixed form. The remix was designed to accentuate the group's powerful post-grunge sound so it could find a crossover audience. Evidently, the gambit was successful since the album became a platinum hit shortly after the title track was issued as a single. My Own Prison is the debut album by Creed, released on June 18, 1997.
