The former back-up singer/songwriter for Cee-lo Green has had his hands full sharpening his fangs with Night Sun (his surf-soul collaboration with members of Black Lips and Night Beats), making stops at SXSW and Burgerama, and finding time in between everything to work on his own solo record. Well, looks like his work has paid off, because preorder day has finally arrived.
Curtis’ soul/garage blues infused debut Soul Power will be pressed on Limited White Vinyl. No word on how limited this release is, but knowing Burger, it will probably clock in between 300 – 500 copies.

Soul Power is the debut studio album by American singer Curtis Harding, released May 6, 2014, by Burger Records. It encompasses a wide breadth of genres, though it is primarily inspired by soul music and his mother's gospel singing. Before Soul Power, Curtis Harding had worked with several artists of various genres, including backing R&B and hip hop recording artist CeeLo Green and collaborating with members of the rock bands Black. At a time when indie-leaning music fans have discovered retro-soul and make records that capture all the sounds and practically none of the feeling of vintage R&B, Curtis Harding is a breath of fresh air: an artist with a real gift for classic soul music stylings but little obvious interest in nostalgia.
