Give, Get, Take and Have is a 1976 studio album by Curtis Mayfield. The track P. I Love You was later featured in the film Superbad and on its accompanied soundtrack. In Christgau's Record Guide: Rock Albums of the Seventies 1981, Robert Christgau said the album meanders more than is conscionable, but was most pleased to report that the opener, 'In My Arms Again,' is the first top-notch song 's written for himself since 'Super Fly,' somebody bad riffing on guitar-sounds like. Mayfield was obviously experiencing the joys of new love when he cut Only You Babe and This Love Is Sweet, and the tear-jerking numbers In Your Arms Again and Party Night. His aching falsetto coos and purrs, but sounds weakened on this LP. Overall, the album falls short of Mayfield's former releases, but even great artists don't always achieve their usual high standards. This was originally released on Curtom Records in the mid-'70s. This album was released in 1976 when R&B, Funk and Disco were burning up the airwaves and you get a fill of all the above on this album which is one of it's great strengths. Curtis was truly one of a kind and was on a great streak of albums in the 1970's. This was truly a fun album and one that I enjoy listening to today and relieving some truly wonderful memories in my life.
