Darkest Hour is the eighth album by American metal band Darkest Hour. It was released on August 5, 2014 through Sumerian Records. It is the first album to feature bassist Aaron Deal and drummer Travis Orbin. The album marks their significant departure from their usual melodic death metal sound, instead having a more mainstream approach with elements of metalcore more prominent, with a more upbeat style. The band's next release would see a return to their original style. Archives is a compilation album by Darkest Hour, released on October 3, 2006 through A-F Records. The disc includes tracks from the band's first two independent EPs, 1996's The Misanthrope and 1999's The Prophecy Fulfilled. The audio for this release was re-mastered from the original master tapes. Unlike the band's more recent material, the following early work of Darkest Hour is much more hardcore orientated metalcore. Darkest Hour's second EP, 1999's The Prophecy Fulfilled, somehow managed to both refine and out-brutalize its impressive predecessor. Heavier than real , crushing highlights such as The Choir of Prophecy Fulfilled and This Side of the Nightmare basked in uncompromisingly ruthless death metal ferocity, while the slower passages heard on Reflections of Ruin and the especially malevolent This Curse were reminiscent of punishing Southern sludgecore. The Prophecy Fulfilled is the second EP from metal band Darkest Hour and was released on May 20, 1999. It was the band's last EP, before their debut album The Mark of the Judas. You know what the next Darkest Hour album is going to sound like already, and that's the amazing part because that's how it should be, I expect full on screaming and instruments fast enough that they sand the skin off your face. Much like how you expect every Cannibal Corpse album to be, no singing and as fast and heavy as they can make music go. This band can do no wrong, even though the production on this album isn't the greatest, the talent is still there and so are the makings of a godlike band. Every song sounds the same .
