The Swiss Army Romance is the debut studio album by American band Dashboard Confessional, released on March 1, 2000 by Fiddler Records. It was released through Fiddler Records on March 1, 2000, limited to 1,000 copies. A decision was made shortly afterwards to sell the album to Drive-Thru Records. Drive-Thru released the album on November 14, 2000. In 2003, the rights to the record were sold to Chris Carrabba and Vagrant Records and the album was re-issued on April 22, 2003. The Swiss Army Romance, released in March 2000 by the tiny Florida indie Fiddler Records and later given a wide reissue, was the emo of its era distilled to its core purpose - music made to mine and dissect one's own emotions.
