Come Taste The Band is the tenth studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple, originally released in October 1975. It was co-produced and engineered by the band and longtime associate Martin Birch. It was the final Deep Purple studio record prior to the band's initial disbandment in 1976, therefore making it the only album to feature Tommy Bolin, who replaced Ritchie Blackmore on guitar, and the final of three albums to feature David Coverdale on lead vocals and Glenn Hughes on bass, as none of. When Ritchie Blackmore departed Deep Purple in the mid-'70s and formed Rainbow which featured Ronnie James Dio, his replacement was Tommy Bolin. To be sure, Blackmore was a darn tough act to follow, but Bolin proved himself to be a fine guitarist in his own right on Come Taste the Band, his first album with Deep Purple. But unfortunately, Bolin didn't have exceptional material to work with - decent and likable, but hardly exceptional. Come Taste The Band is the tenth studio album by the English Hard Rock band Deep Purple originally released in October 1975. The album was co-produced in album Deep Purple - Come Taste The Band 1975. Come Taste The Band emerged in October 1975 and saw no real departure from the sound evident on the bands two previous albums recorded with the Mk. III line up. All things considered Come Taste The Band is a strong album both in terms of song writing and musicianship and is an overlooked gem in the Deep Purple catalogue. Sadly this would prove to be the one and only album recorded by the Mk. IV lineup and would signal the end of Deep Purple's impressive run as one the most successfull rock bands in the world.
