The title refers to the largely computer-based production methods employed during the album's creation, where the bulk of the music was composed using softsynths and Emagic Logic Audio 5 rather than external hardware synthesizers and traditional multi-track recorders. Deepsky is an electronic band based in Los Angeles. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, the band formed in 1992 when its two founding members, J. Scott Giaquinta and Jason Blum, met at the University of New Mexico.
