Note: During the same week in August of 1962, Dexter Gordon went into the studio with the great Blue Note rhythm section of Sonny Clark, Butch Warren and Billy Higgins and laid down two of the most magnificent statements of his career. On August 27, he recorded GO. On August 29, he made A SWINGIN' AFFAIR. Although no releasable alternate takes of unissued tunes exist from these session [sic], they remain among his finest masterpieces. (M. Cuscuna)This Classic Records release is from the late 1990's.
