Taking the Long Way is the seventh studio album by American country music group, the Dixie Chicks. It was released on May 23, 2006, through Columbia Nashville. The album debuted at 1 on the Billboard 200. It sold over 2 12 million copies in the U. being certified 2 platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America as of July 11, 2007. It won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year in February 2007. The road leading away from Home, the Dixie Chicks' acclaimed 2002 return to straight-ahead country, proved to be quite rocky for the Texan trio, largely due to anti-George W.
