Swing To and Diz is a studio album by jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker and trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie. It was recorded primarily on June 6, 1950 in New York City. Two tracks featured on the original pressing, Passport and Visa, were recorded by Parker, without Gillespie and with a different personnel than that of the other tracks, in March and May 1949. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей. Dizzy Gillespie. John Birks Dizzy Gillespie October 21, 1917 January 6, 1993 was an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer Gillespie is on both of the Stardust tracks and on Kerouac. Joe Guy is the trumpeter on every other track except for Lips Flips Oran Hot Lips Page has the horn on that track. Moreover, there is no evidence of Thelonious Monk playing on any of the tracks. Dizzy's tracks on Stardust and Kerouac show a talented nineteen year old genius who was laying down the seeds of what would be a revolution against the regimented swing bands, and would change jazz. The bottom line regarding this album is the music is spectacular, but can be found on a number of other albums and compilations. Johnson, Percy Heath, and Stuff Smith in addition to an early appearance from John Coltrane he made his debut with Diz, though not here
