Destination: Nerva is an audio drama based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. This audio drama was produced by Big Finish Productions. Tom Baker played the Fourth Doctor from 1974 to 1981. Although Big Finish Productions has been producing audio dramas with all the other living, Classic Series Doctors since 1999, Tom Baker had declined to participate. Baker finally reprised the role in a series of audio dramas for the BBC in 2009, starting with Hornets' Nest. Destination: Nerva was the first story in the first series of the Fourth Doctor Adventures, produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Nicholas Briggs and featured Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Louise Jameson as Leela. After saying their goodbyes to Professor Litefoot and Henry Gordon Jago, the Doctor and Leela respond to an alien distress call beamed direct from Victorian England. It is the beginning of a journey that will take them to the newly built Space Dock Nerva. where a long. Doctor Who: Destination Nerva. Released January 2012. Written by Nicholas Briggs. Im in studio for Destination: Nerva and, while this is the first of the brand new range of Tom Baker-starring releases from Big Finish, its not the first to be recorded. Saturday 16 May. BBC RADIO 4 EXTRA. New to Radio 4 Extra: Tom Baker returns as the Doctor in a full-cast audio drama. A homecoming that could bring about the end of the human race. Nerva first appeared in the 1975 television episode Ark In Space, which inspired Nicholas Briggs, the writer and director of this episode. This is the first time Tom Baker has played the part of the Doctor since the television series. These six stories will also see the TARDIS go to a museum of everything, the time of Boudica and London during a future energy crisis and conclude with a showdown with some old enemies. Destination: Nerva is the first of six audio adventures staring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Louise Jameson as Leela. Produced by Big Finish, these officially licensed full-cast recordings offer original stories coupled with professional grade sound design and a specially composed musical score. The story picks up immediately from the closing scene of the television adventure The Talons of Weng-Chiang. Back in 1999, the first Big Finish Doctor Who audio was released. It was called Sirens of Time, and featured the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors. Then in 2001, Storm Warning was released with the Eighth Doctor. Doctor Who - Destination Nerva. By: Nicholas Briggs.
