Exploration Earth: The Time Machine was the first broadcast radio drama in the Doctor Who franchise. Along with Doctor Who and the Pescatons, it was one of only two occasions on which Elisabeth Sladen appeared alongside Tom Baker in a Doctor Who audio play. As the third episode of the BBC Schools radio series Exploration Earth, it formed part of a study module about geography. Exploration Earth: The Time Machine' was recorded and broadcast in 1976, the third of four instalments in a BBC Schools Radio programme. The TARDIS travels 4,500 years into Earth's past, and the Doctor and Sarah witness the very beginnings of the planet. As the ship takes them forward to different stages of the planet's development, they encounter Megron, the Lord of Chaos. Earth is under his control, and he intends for chaos to reign ever more. New Earth is the first episode of the second series of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It was first broadcast on BBC One on 15 April 2006. The episode is set five billion years in the future on New Earth, a planet humanity settled on following the destruction of the Earth in the 2005 episode The End of the World.
