It was her fourth consecutive double album, and also made her the first person ever to take three consecutive double albums to the number one spot on the U. album chart. This was my very first Donna Summer album back in 1980 and includes most of her hits from her golden era with Cassablanca records. There is probably not a better compilation around. The release is an almost complete anthology of her popular '70s output, including the number one club singles Love to Love You Baby, Try Me, I Know We Can Make It, I Remember Yesterday, MacArthur Park, Bad Girls, No More Tears Enough Is Enough, and Hot Stuff. Donna Summer born 31 December 1948, died 17 May 2012 was one of seven children raised by devout Christian parents. She sang in church, and in her teens joined a funk group called The Crow, so named because Donna was the only black member of the group. At eighteen, Gaines left home and school to audition for a role in the cast of the Broadway musical, Hair 1968. Unsuccessful in getting the part in the Broadway show Melba Moore got the role, she was offered the European Tour when the show moved to Germany, where Summer also performed in the German versions of several musicals in read more.
