Joined by Andrew Davis and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Little puts forth an exemplary performance filled with beautiful, singing legato lines impeccable intonation superb bow technique and a dazzlingly nimble left hand. Tasmin Littles recording of the Elgars Violin Concerto has been released to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the works first performance. In concert Tasmin is especially associated with Elgars Violin Concerto: in 2007, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sir Edward Elgar, she performed the concerto on a major tour to Southeast Asia and Australia, and she has also performed it extensively in London at the BBC Proms, with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican, and with the. Little and Andrew Davis are equal partners in this performance and some of the climaxes that feature the brass are spectacular. The fill-ups are not likely to be crucial.
