All songs written by Elvis Costello except as indicated. Alison from My Aim Is True, 1977 3:22. Watching the Detectives from single, 1978 3:41. What's So Funny 'Bout Peace, Love and Understanding Nick Lowe from single, 1979 3:31. Oliver's Army from Armed Forces, 1979 2:58. Covering nearly all of Elvis Costello's hits prior to 1985, this album picks songs off of My Aim Is True, Imperial Bedroom, Trust, This Year's Model, Armed Forces, Get Happy, and a couple others. For those that simply want a taste of Costello, this album is probably the best-fitted for any reasonable purpose. All of the necessary songs are included. If more is desired, the individual albums might be something worthwhile to look into. As is though, this album is much more straightforward and better-organized than many of the other compilations of Costello's work available.
