Album
The Respect Issue is the second album by American Nu metalcore band Emmure. The album was released on May 13, 2008 with pre-orders available on March 11. Kurt Angle, professional wrestler and former Olympic wrestler, is featured as a boxer on the cover art and throughout the inlay. Angle also wore an Emmure shirt during broadcasts of TNA Impact in promotion of the album. This is also the last studio release to feature founding members Ben and Joe Lionetti, who left the band in May 2009. Album 2008 10 Songs. More By Emmure. After the more varied sound of their 2007 debut, Goodbye to the Gallows, the second album by Connecticut metalcore outfit Emmure sounds disappointingly one-dimensional. Singer Frank Palmeri still shifts back and forth between a standard-issue death growl and a more melodic clean vocal style, but these ten songs tend to stick to the same template of stuttering unison riffs and blastbeats, so much so that there are times when it's hard to tell when one song ends and the next begins. Emmure - The Respect Issue review: If you thought the only thing metalcore needed was more breakdowns, then boy has Emmure got an album for you. Never in my life have I come across a band that was so content with mediocrity as Emmure. You would think that after the release of their third album, there would be a noticeable difference in the sounds the band produces, but alas, that is not the case. Emmure has released three whole albums full of the exact same rehashed ideas and stale breakdowns, and not only has the band displayed a glorious absence of progression, it even seems like they may have regressed in some cases.
