Boasting 16 tracks, Country Music Hall of Fame is the most complete single-disc Ernest Tubb compilation available. All of the songs - which range from Walking the Floor Over You in 1941 to Waltz Across Texas in 1965 - are the original hit versions, not the remakes that tend to flood the budget-line collections. Not every one of Tubb's biggest hits are included on Country Music Hall of Fame, to be certain, but many of the most important - Soldier's Last Letter, You Nearly Lose Your Mind, Seaman's Blues, It's Been So Long Darlin', and Letters Have No Arms - are present, making the disc an essential addition to. any basic country record collection. Ernest Dale Tubb February 9, 1914 September 6, 1984, nicknamed the Texas Troubadour, was an American singer and songwriter and one of the pioneers of country music. His biggest career hit song, Walking the Floor Over You 1941, marked the rise of the honky tonk style of music. In 1948, he was the first singer to record a hit version of Blue Christmas, a song more commonly associated with Elvis Presley and his mid-1950s version. This is a list of the 139 inductees to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, as of 2019, counting groups as a single inductee. Of these, 20 inductions include women 17 of those being solo performers. Roy Rogers is unique in that he was inducted twice: in 1980 as a member of the Sons of the Pioneers and again in 1988 as a solo artist. Return to top of page.
