Chumbawamba ˌtʃʌmbəˈwɒmbə was an English rock band that formed in 1982 and disbanded in 2012. The band constantly shifted in musical style, drawing on genres such as punk rock, pop, and folk. Their anarcho-communist or libertarian socialist political stance exhibited an irreverent attitude toward authority, and the band have been forthright in their stances on issues including animal rights and pacifism early in their career and later regarding class struggle, Marxism, feminism, gay liberation. Shhh is the fifth studio album by the band Chumbawamba. It was originally written and recorded as Jesus H. Christ, an album that relied heavily on samples. The band was unable to procure rights to a number of the songs they sampled, however, and the album was largely re-worked to defend artistic intent and criticize censorship.
