Federation X offers a scary, brutal folk-core sound that is part Tom Waits, part Anti-Seen, and part murder ballads. This is an amazing epalbum that I've recently rediscovered It's caused many solo air guitar sessions, I have to admit. Every song is a winner from the great build up in Hatchetmen to the all out ear drum burster that is Moose Blood. Many of these songs stray away from traditional structions and veer into extended jams, which never gets boring in the least. Federation X have a huge powerful southern garage thing going on that brings to mind the live power of The Cherry Valence if only they could get the sound right in the studio like FedX have .
