Gerry Lockran 19 July 1942 17 November 1987 was a British blues singer, songwriter, poet and guitarist. Gerald Cranston Frederick Loughran was born in the Yeotmal province of the central plains of India. He was the youngest of eight children, having three brothers and four sisters. His forefathers emigrated from Ireland to India around 1800, while his paternal grandmother was of Russian descent. His father Albert Loughran known as Locky was a Chief Inspector of Police in the Central Province of. During his lifetime Gerry recorded thirteen albums and toured most of Europe and the USA. started having health problems in the early '80's and the pics below were taken at benefit gig for him at the Half Moon Putney in January 1983. The pics were originally held by Cliff Aungier. Thank you to Luc Ardyns, who sent this photograph to me. Luc was the engineer on Gerrys album The Shattered Eye , recorded in 1979, and is on the left. My dad, Gerry, is on the right, and in the centre is his good friend and fellow musician Ian Hunt, who accompanied my dad brilliantly on that album. Gerry Lockran.
