Gitte Hænning-Johansson Danish Schlager singer and actress, born June 29, 1946, in Aarhus, Denmark, and frequently billed solely as Gitte. Debuted on record at the age of 8 in a duet with her father, band leader Otto Hænning, with the song Jeg Vil Giftes Med Farmand that became a national hit in Denmark. As a teenager she started parallel careers in Denmark, Sweden and Germany, gradually making Germany her prime market and home, though she still released records and appeared in movies in Denmark.
