Gong - Magick Brother It has also been listed as Magick Brother, Mystic Sister Released: 1970 Country: France Genre: Progressive rock, Psychedelic Brother is the debut studio album by the progressive rock band Gong, recorded in Paris during September and October 1969 and released in March 1970 on the French BYG Actuel label. The band's recently recruited bass player Christian Tritsch was not ready in time to play on the album, and so singersongwriterguitarist Daevid Allen played the bass guitar himself a photo of Allen recording bass tracks for the album is featured on the cover artwork. They also made use of jazz contrabass. Magick Brother - Gong. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. In 1970, the world got its first taste of the original pothead pixie, Daevid Allen's Gong, as Magick Brother was released in France on the BYG label. Allen's wife, Gilli Smyth, penned all the tunes on the album, and Allen's now-classic Ph. drawing style graces the inside of the gatefold. Leaning a little toward the pop end of the spectrum, Magick Brother is a fairly light album, devoid of the blatant psychedelichippie qualities which shine through so brilliantly on the later Camembert Electrique. Album 1970 10 Songs. Magick Brother. Rock 1970. Mystic Sister, Magick Brother. It is often the case that a band's first album is considered their best. Sometimes, a band's creative energy is such that they can go on to create further albums of a similar or even better calibre than the first. Gong is one of these bands, though in this case their first album remains, in my opinion, their best. Not the most accomplished musically certainly. Not the most developed, in particular in terms of the pot head pixie universe. Gong - Magic Brother 1969. To favorites 7 Download album. Listen album. Jazz-Rock Progressive Rock Psychedelic Rock.
