Gorillaz is the eponymous debut studio album by virtual band Gorillaz. It was released on 26 March 2001 in the United Kingdom by Parlophone and in the United States by Virgin Records. The album reached number three in the UK and number fourteen in the US, and has sold over seven million copies worldwide. G-Sides features some of each, ranging from the even bouncier, more upbeat remix of 192000 by Soulchild to the rather eerie Hip Albatross, which mixes samples of moaning zombies from Dawn of the Dead with trip-hoppy beats and moody guitars. Rapper Phi Life Cyber reinforces Gorillaz's hip-hop roots by joining them on two tracks, a reworking of Clint Eastwood and The Sounder
