The album is the band's first release since the inclusion of two new members, rhythm guitarist Benny Yurco and bassist Catherine Popper. Potter released her debut solo record Original Soul on 2004 via Grace Potter Music. Potter and her band parted ways in 2015, just before the release of her solo album, Midnight. Her latest album, Daylight, was released in 2019. In 2011, Potter and Higher Ground founded Grand Point North music festival in Burlington, Vermont. The music festival celebrates local acts, promotes area businesses and has attracted national performing artists, including Kenny Chesney, Jackson Browne, The Avett Brothers, Trey Anastasio, Nathaniel Rateliff, The Flaming Lips, Trampled By Turtles, Gov't Mule and mor. Looking for more Grace Potter I then found this CD, Original Soul. The Nocturnals name is not attached but both Scott Tournet-guitar and Matt Burr-drums are here as on all four Grace Potter CDs. All I can say is BUY THIS CD. It's pricey, probably due to demand and a limited printing, but it's well worth whatever you end up paying. I haven't taken it out of my player since opening it days ago. Orignal Soul is Grace Potters first album and a very worthy one. I first discoverd Grace with her most current self titled album GP&N. It is a great classic rock album However Orginal Soul is very heart felt soul music with an occansional hint of blues.
