Released: 1995 Unlike Greta's debut album, their follow up This is Greta features a more polished, radio-friendly sound, while still maintaining the same grunge edge. Music videos from this album: About You Greta and their production team were very pleased with the album and music video. Released in 1993, No Biting was a dull, sludgy attempt to jump on the grunge bandwagon, but the far superior This Is Greta is a much brighter, poppier album. Singer Paul Plagens and guitarist Kyle Baer still favor hard, chunky riffs, but the results sound much more like Cheap Trick than Black Oak Arkansas, always a good thing. Ed Stasium's production burnishes the sound, and his sense of dynamics gives the songs a lot more empty space than the claustrophobic debut. Greta was an American hard rock band formed in 1990 by Paul Plagens, Kyle Baer, Josh Gordon, and Brad Wilk. Wilk left the band in 1991 to join Rage Against the Machine, and was replaced on the drums by Scott Carneghi who went on to co-found the band Buffalocomotive in 2012. The band signed a two-record deal with Mercury Records in 1993 and released their debut album, No Biting, on September 21 of that year. Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has recorded an essay about climate change for The 1975's new album, Notes on a Conditional Form. In the essay, which she recites over ambient music from the Manchester band, Thunberg calls for civil disobedience and says it is time to rebel. There are no grey areas when it comes to survival, she adds on the track, which was released overnight. This is in keeping with the band's previous records, all three of which have opened with an ambient instrumental track entitled The 1975.
