Crucible was created in room 303 of the Park Manor from 6 writing sessions held during March '01 through August '01. The exception to the just-noted is 'Trail of Tears' which was written in the band's Los Angeles rehearsal room a couple days before formal tracking commenced - November 1, 2001.

Crucible is the second studio album by the heavy metal band Halford released in 2002. In contrast with the retrospective approach of the previous Halford album, Resurrection, Crucible was an intentional effort to depart from the traditional metal themes. The album has been described as hard, darker, and more moody than Resurrection.
