Christmas Album - Herb Alpert, The Tijuana Brass. Greatest Hits is a 1970 album by Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass. This was the group's first compilation album, with all selections coming from its first five albums. The album, released a few months after Alpert had disbanded the group, was eventually certified gold in the spring of 1971. When Greatest Hits was released, Alpert was in the midst of a four-year sabbatical from performing, instead concentrating on producing records for other artists signed to his A&M label. Their music was played everywhere, and was used in many commercials. It seemed like everyone liked them or, at least, there were not many people who disliked them no known enemies. They had numerous hit singles and albums I owned several including Whipped Cream and Other Delights probably their best, SRO, and Sounds Like. However, I never owned their Christmas album, though I heard Sleighride and My Favorite Things on the radio quite a bit. I recntly heard Winter Wonderland in a store while shopping, and dec.
