The Best of Both Worlds is the second greatest hits album by American hard rock band Van Halen, released on July 20, 2004 on Warner Bros. The compilation features material recorded with lead vocalists David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar, but omitting Gary Cherone's three-year tenure with the band. Prior to The Best of Both Worlds' release, Hagar reunited with Van Halen, and the band subsequently recorded three new tracks to include on the release. Van Halen's second album with Sammy Hagar on vocals featured this woozy, Zeppelin-esque ode to walking drunk as in wobbling on the beaches of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Hagar frequently vacationed there, and in 1990 the band opened the city's Cabo Wabo nightclub. Eventually Sammy bought the band out, and also started a tequila company under the same banner. When Van Halen performed a concert on Jimmy Kimmels outdoor stage in 2015 to promote the release of their new Tokyo Dome Live in Concert album, lead singer David Lee Roth cut his nose open while twirling a baton during the song Panama. Roth scampered off stage and had the wound - which would later require 14 stitches - taped up. The band continued to play as guitarist Eddie Van Halen, one of rocks most revered and profoundly original players, filled the space with a fusillade of licks and noises.
