Same As It Ever Was is the second album by American hip hop group House of Pain. It was released in 1994 and peaked at number 12 on the Top R&BHip-Hop Albums and Billboard 200. To record the album, the group had to work around Everlast's house arrest for a gun charge. The clean version of the second song from the album, I'm a Swing It, was featured in the 2001 skateboarding video game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. Текст песни: Uh shoot 'em all baby Just call it in one time for me real heavy Back in black Whos the of Pain's self-titled album had its moments, but on the whole, wasn't very memorable. However, the Irish-American group really blossomed on its far-superior and much more hardcore second album, Same as It Ever Was. With this album, Everlast changed his style of rapping considerably and unveiled a much more distinctive and recognizable approach. Sounding twisted, damaged, and maniacal, Everlast grabs the listener's attention and refuses to let go on such wildly entertaining fare as Back From the Dead, Over There Shit, and Runnin' Up on Ya. In 1992, House Of Pains first ever single as a group became a world wide smash hit with massive crossover appeal. On the trios follow-up, Same As It Ever Was, it appears as if the group have intentionally gone out of their way to restore their reputation as hardcore rap artists. Of course, the resultant effect is that there is very little that can be considered mainstream about this release at all. Unfortunately, there are serious concerns regarding depth on Same As It Ever Was, as evidenced by the choice of the 2nd and 3rd singles. Both Whos The Man and Word Is Bond display mixed results and are only passable at best. The second album from House Of Pain, released June 28, 1994. It went gold, but couldnt match the success of the groups self-titled debut. History has proven it to be an unheralded classic, with most fans finding it superior to House Of Pains self-titled first album.
